1930s cesarean section. Graphic surgical footage

Sound kicks in at 1min. Complete upload for those people that wanted to watch the actual surgery. I didn’t tweak the audio here so it’s even more awful, but this footage is almost 100 years old, so what do you expect. A shorter edited, non graphic version can be viewed at the following link . This film teaches the method of laparotrachelotomy or low cervical cesarean section. At the beginning of the film the instructor, Joseph DeLee lectures and demonstrates the method through the use of diagrams. An actual laparotrachelotomy is performed under local anaesthesia, and the results are later discussed.
