Wisdom Teeth Removal in Tyler, Texas: Melinda’s Child | Southern Surgical Arts –
Wisdom teeth, or Third molars, are an additional set of teeth, which grow under the surface of the gums and, in many cases, are undetectable without proper x-ray evaluation or 3-D scanning. It is not uncommon for teens and adults to be unaware that these wisdom teeth exist in their mouth until they begin to present significant problems. Wisdom tooth removal by a licensed Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon will provide the highest quality surgical expertise for the surgical process.
Dr. Brian Stone attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) for his undergraduate career, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. After taking a year off, he returned to school to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Baylor University. After receiving his dental degree, Dr. Stone chose to expand his training to medicine and earned his medical degree (MD) from Texas Tech Health Science Center as well before moving to Dallas to complete his oral and maxillofacial training. As a final step to prove his exemplary status, Dr. Stone completed the rigorous requirements to earn his certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This certification ensures that Dr. Stone understands and stays up to date with the latest advancements of the oral and maxillofacial specialty.
“Any time your child goes under anesthesia, you’re always nervous as a parent, so when we met with Dr. Stone, it was really comforting. He explained things in detail, which really puts your mind at ease knowing that your child’s having minor surgery. His recovery time was great – ther than the little loopyness coming outside from under the anesthesia, which is always fun. He really just went home that day. We had it done on a Friday, and he was able to go back to school on Monday, so it was very easy, relatively pain-free, no trouble at all. Our youngest is about to begin the process; well she’s actually begun the process. We’ve had our consultation, and so our youngest needs her wisdom teeth out, so it was such a good process and an easy procedure that we called Dr. Brian back. We love Southern Surgical Arts. They’re a great group and wonderful people.”
